Nyepi is a Balinese "Day of Silence" that is commemorated every Isakawarsa (Saka new year) according to the Balinese calendar (in 2016, it falls on March 9). It is a Hinducelebration mainly celebrated in Bali, Indonesia.
Me and madame Carol we were riding the motobike looking for monsters everywhere in Bali! there were indeed lots of monsters everywhere, waiting quietly for their big show starting at sun down.
Monsters of all sizes and shapes were posing in every imaginable fearsome ways, we were not sure if kids were going to be able to sleep at night, apprantly they could, because kids were the most excited of all! Running around, posing to tourists' camera, some with miniatured monsters who are about the size of a dog. Then the evening came, all monsters turned alive and marched (or flied) on the little streets of Bali, this is their evening, to be out and to celebrate their being.
I believe even monsters should have their day out. Life with only one color is not complete, even unpleasant, we need to face honestly with our inner demons and say, hey, this is your night, but after tonight, it's Nyepi day and its day of inner reflection!
this night, the stars burned through the darkness, we saw the milky way.
